BP Players 2003 topics!

Tatsu Muranishi is hot and has been effective!

Tatsu Muranshi, one of BP Players playing for the Florence Freedom, has been invited to the Padres' invitation only tryout on September 14th, 2003.

Maki, Okuda, and Takagi have finished their short-lived season in Canada.

The Canadian Baseball league cut its inaugural season in half to finish it on July 25th, 2003.   Three BP Players played in the short lived-league recorded remarkable results.

Maki, the second starter of the Calgary Outlaws started 8 games, won 4, and lost 2 with 5.56 ERA which was only affected by the last appearance that lasted only for one inning due to a pain felt on his back.  He pitched 44 innings and struckout 33.  With his 5 year Japanese major experiences, his left arm effectively acquired strikeouts in almost every inning he pitched.

Okuda, a second base man of the Kelowna Heat, hit .302 AVG and .402 OBP for 63 AB.   He came in third on his team for AVG.  As a rookie, he has successfully paved the first path for the higher level games for the coming years.

Takagi, a setupper of the Kelowna Heat, picked up 1 win and pitched 7 innings with 4.70 ERA.  As a rookie, he did not get much chance to pitch, but has gotten great professional experiences which provided great lessons for professional level pitching in depth.
